Therefore, the IDD LAC provides a crisp, neutral and reliable platform that combines the richness of multi stakeholder dialogue and the commitment to build bridges towards the design of regulations that embraces the digital ecosystem and promotes its development.

The Institute is based on a participatory approach -settled on extensive knowledge and experiences- and focused on monitoring, analyzing and shaping the legal, regulatory and political landscape of ICTs in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Our Work. Combining our joint knowledge and experience, we are able to focus on accompanying and promoting sustained development, aligned with international human rights standards.

In order to achieve its goal, the Institute facilitates instances of training, dialogue, and debate among all interested parties. Such spaces are necessary to achieve consensus while generating new opportunities for collaboration in a sector and context as diverse as it is complex.

To create a proper environment that enables these exchange levels as gamechanger for a positive reality, the IDD LAC will carry out its work as follows:

1.Monitor and analyze trends in the LAC region and the rest of the world. Our objective is to serve as good listeners and a source of information in areas related to ICT, new trends, encryption, legislation, monitoring the actions of the public sector (policies and regulations) related to the digital ecosystem. It is necessary to continue generating mechanisms that allow studying the transformations that are taking place and those that may take place in the future so that it is possible to better understand their implications and contribute significantly to the development of the digital ecosystem.

2.Build capacities for stakeholders. This enables positive feedback and the strengthening of capacities to regulate the digital environment respecting rights and obligations.

3.Encourage alliances and coordination of actions between different stakeholders: here is the key to developing a healthy and prosperous digital ecosystem.
